University Village
Project Scope: University Village was conceptualized by the Riverside Redevelopment Agency and the University of California, Riverside to socially and economically revitalize the critical University Avenue corridor and the University's "front door". The goal of University Village is to establish an urban retail and entertainment center where UCR and surrounding communities can interact in the tradition of the Westwood Village, Santa Monica Promenade, Harvard Square, Marketplace in Irvine, or University Center in La Jolla. The project was designed to be a stylish, pedestrian-friendly urban development with enhanced architectural designs, high quality finishes, and second story offices. The $24 million University Village will complement the recent $10 million UCR acquisition on University Avenue, which include Highlander Hall and the UCR Extension center. Space will consist of:
